    • Kathryn W. Yancey, 88, of Lakeland passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center.

      She was born August 15, 1931 in Naylor, Georgia to the late John A and Ruth Wilkes. She was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church and served as the church pianist for over 50 years. She was married to the late Gilbert David “Sam” Yancey, Sr. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers John A. Wilkes, Jr. and Jimmy M. Wilkes. She was the owner of the Lanier County Freezer Locker.

      Daughter and Son-In-Law Ruthie Watson (Bill)Naylor, GA

      Great-Grandchildren Katelyn Hunt (Jamie), Meghan Register, Hannah Register, Peyton,Parker, Presley Wade, and Elise Watson

      Graveside services will be held Monday, June 8 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Way Baptist Church Cemetery.
