  	E. D. Wilkes Dies at Home in Petal E. D. Wilkes died at his home in Petal Saturday at 8 PM after almost a year's illness. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and interment, conducted by the Hulett Undertaking Company, was made in Roseland Park Cemetery. Mr. Wilkes was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was well-known throughout South Mississippi. He had served as postmaster at Petal for the past two years. Survivors include the widow, who prior to her marriage was Miss Bettie Magee of Prentiss; four sons, Ernest D. Jr., Magee, Berney, and Sam T., all of Petal; two daughters, Norfleet of Petal and Frances of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, mother, and four brothers. Relatives from Prentiss who attended the funeral were Mrs. R. C. Williams, Roscie, Jr., and Joyce Williams, Misses Agnes and Edna Magee, Jeff Tyrone and Miss Ida Laird of Monticello.
