- Homer Eugene Edenfield, for many years owner and operator of the Dreamland Theatre, died yesterday at a local hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at Platt's Chapel this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Edgar C. Lucas will officiate. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Masonic services will be conducted at the graveside.
Mr. Edenfield, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Edenfield, became operator of the Dreamland Theatre after the death of his father, for many years a local political figure. Some years ago, Mr. Edenfield sold his interest in the theatre and retired from the business. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Modern Woodmen of America.
Pallbearers will be past masters of Webb Lodge No. 166, F.& A. M.; C.E. Tankersley, Raymond Hargrove, S.B. Thompson, Dewey Cave, D.R. McRae, Sr., and K.H. Eitner.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Essie Timmerman Edenfield, and one son, Richard J. Edenfield.
