- Port Lavaca: Sidney M. Hunt, 85, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born in San Patricio County to the late Edwin O. and Mildred “Dot” Holland Hunt on September 15, 1927. He served his country in the United States Army and is a member of V.F.W. Post 4403. Sidney retired from the Texas Water Quality Board were he was the Municipal District Director for the Corpus Christi Zone.
Sidney is survived by his wife, Gladys Syma Hunt of Port Lavaca; daughter, Sharon Holt (Mark) of Port Lavaca; sons, Ron Hunt of Victoria and John Hunt (Susan) of Hallettsville; brother, Ernest Hunt (Mary) of Conroe; grandchildren, Ronda Hunt, Steven Hunt, Kelly McDade and Ryan McDade; great-grandchildren, Ava, Morgan, Nora and Brandon.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church with Father Ty Bazar officiating.
Graveside Burial will be 2:00 p.m. at Sinton Cemetery with Father Patrick Serna officiating.
Pallbearers are Steven Hunt, Kelly McDade, Ryan McDade, David Hunt, Terry Smith and Larry Weaver.
Memorial donations may be made in Sidney’s name to Hospice of South Texas.
Arrangements trusted to the care of Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca.
