- Delvine Riggs Green, 85, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday evening, February 10, 2022 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. She was born on January 15, 1937 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late O.B. and Ella Smith Riggs. She has made Lake City her home since the mid-1960s and was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, making numerous shirts for her children, and being with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband JP Green and two siblings.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Garland (Lisa), Tracy Matthews (Scott), Mike Green (Mimi), Chris Green (Anna) and Jonathan Green (Mychelle); brother, Darrel Riggs; two sisters, Doris Riggs and Donna Kingsley; step-children, Jerry Green (Laura), Maurine Niswander (Phillip) and special step-grandson, Jordan Green (Bonnie), and Alex Green her grandson and caretaker of 3 years. Her grandchildren, Travis, Lindsey, Kaitlyn, Mandy, Amy, Mallory, Mason, Logan, Brooke, Bailey, Audrey and Halle along with numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Green will be conducted on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Regal Dicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to Haven Hospice, 6037 W. US HWY 90, Lake City, FL, 32055.
