- Cynthia Jan Henderson Mixon, 70, of Greer, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Ocilla, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Bailey and Annie Frances Milton Henderson and wife of Joseph Edward Mixon.
After moving to Greenville 43 years ago, she called Greenville home. She attended South Georgia Junior College and was a member of the University of Georgia Red Coat Band. She attended the American College of Radiology in Macon, Ga., and received training as an X-ray technician. Prior to her retirement, she was the co-owner of Janed Enterprises.
Mrs. Mixon enjoyed collecting antiques and working in her yard. She was an avid golfer and was a charter member of Pebble Creek Country Club. She was also a member of Thornblade Country Club. Mrs. Mixon was a member of Pelham Rd. Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters and their husbands, Ann and Jeff Doyon of Arlington, Va., and Lyn and Tommy Thompson of Greer; and four grandchildren, Josh and Andrew Doyon, both of Virginia, and Cory and Heather Thompson, both of Greer.
Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her brother, William Bailey Henderson, Jr.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
