- Dan Sigmund, age 56, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 7, 2011 in Smithfield, Rhode Island while visiting his consecrated daughter at Mater Ecclesiae College.
He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida on July 1, 1955 to the late Otto V. and Ruth (Cason) Sigmund. He had resided in Cumming, Georgia for the past 14 years. He loved to fly and became a private pilot over 20 years ago. He was a member of AOPA and the River Bend Gun Club. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed bird hunting and was the best heating and air conditioning mechanic in all of Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra and his daughter April, of Cumming, Georgia; brothers Eugene Sigmund, Herbert Sigmund and Otto V. Sigmund Jr. and his late sister, Shirley Elder all of Jacksonville, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Larkin, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6320 Bennett Rd. Jacksonville, Florida at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 19, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery on Beach Blvd. Jacksonville.
Visitation will be Monday, April 18, at the Prince of Peace Church from 6:00-8:00 PM. There will be a vigil service held for Mr. Sigmund at 7:00 PM at the church.
