- Taylor Alan Liebe 20, of Brandon, Florida, passed away near his home May 7, 2018.
He was born November 21, 1997 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, the beloved son, of Col. Leland Arthur Liebe, USA (Ret.) and Alyssa Michelle Liebe while the family supported active military assignment in Alexandria, Virginia. Taylor grew up a vibrant Army brat, attending school, meeting new friends, and playing sports subsequently in Leavenworth, Kansas; Harker Heights, Texas; Stuttgart, Germany; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; graduating from the Teen Challenge program in Bonifay, Florida, ultimately completing his high school education in the Tampa, Florida area. At his passing, Taylor was actively pursuing military enlistment, receiving posthumous approval for service by the United States Army Vice Chief of Staff.
A gifted athlete, Taylor was a passionate sportsman. He was most comfortable enjoying life outdoors on a sports field surrounded by friends, family, and any piece of sporting equipment. A favorite teammate, he was known for his speed, raw talent, and size, as he excelled in football, high school basketball, soccer, baseball, bowling, or whatever you wanted to play next. Taylor was known for lighting up any room as soon as he entered and made lasting impressions on every person he met. He was especially talented at making those around him smile and laugh hysterically, particularly his sisters and his cousins. Taylor loved to play video games and became quite skilled at Madden football. At one point, he was even ranked in the top 100 worldwide in "Call of Duty." He loved music, a good meal, and good company. A caring young man, he had a special concern for the homeless community, and those less fortunate, frequently trying to warm the day of a distressed stranger by sharing a smile, and a moment of his time.
Taylor's profound love of family was his greatest blessing. He is survived and deeply missed by his family, including his mother, Alyssa of Brandon, Florida; his father, Leland of Southwest Ranches, Florida; sisters, Adyson Elizabeth and Payton Michelle of Brandon, Florida; maternal grandmother, Mary Wooten of Brandon, Florida; paternal grandparents, Col. Frederick Liebe (Ret.), and Carla Liebe of Oklahoma City, OK; uncles and aunts, Lenard and Lisa Liebe, Jeff and Caroline Wooten, Chad Wooten; cousins, Cody, Carlen, and J.J.; and stepmother, Suzie and stepsister, Jessica.
Taylor's belief in God was an important aspect of his life, attending church with his mother just a few hours before his passing. A Celebration of Life for Taylor will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:30 am at Bayshore Christian Church, 3909 South MacDill Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33611. Burial Service for immediate family will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Taylor Liebe's name through the United Way's Suncoast Chapter to support homeless veterans through the Mission United program as well as the West Florida Teen Challenge Program at Gateway Academy in Bonifay, Florida.
