  	Dick Hans Nissen passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, at Evergreen Estates in Clarkston. Dick was born June 21, 1932, to Earnest Criss (Red) Nissen and Georgia Alice (Leonard) Nissen in Cottonwood. He attended public schools in Cottonwood for 10 years and in Clarkston for two years, graduating from Clarkston High School in 1951. While attending Clarkston High School, he met Shirley Lynne Edholm, whom he married June 28, 1953. Dick and Shirley lived and worked in Oregon, Idaho and various Washington locations from 1957 until permanently resettling in Clarkston in 1968. Dick was in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952, serving in the United States and Germany. He was then subsequently in the Idaho Army National Guard from 1953 to 1959. He was a service repair manager with Montgomery Ward and retired from Moore's Furniture in North Lewiston. He enjoyed carpentry and at one time cutting his own firewood, playing different card games (especially pinochle), and visiting with family and friends. Dick is survived by his son, Dick (Sandy) Nissen of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; daughter, Julie (Ron) Freeman of Lewiston; and son, Gary (Candi) Nissen of Clarkston. He had 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bill Edholm of Orem, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; sister Edna Nissen Hollandsworth Carlson; and granddaughter, Angela Nissen. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston or a charity of one's choice.
