BLYTHEWOOD A funeral service for Lonnie Mae Robinson Smith, 83, of Blythewood, will be held 11 oclock, Friday morning, December 1, 2006, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Karen Radcliffe officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 oclock Thursday evening at Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Childrens Ministries at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 6911 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, November 25, 2006. Born October 8, 1923, in Columbia County, Fla., she was a daughter of the late Lemmie and Addie Virginia Melton Robinson. While living in Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Smith worked for Lerners Stores for over 30 years. She was an avid gardener and loved to crochet and fish.
Surviving are a son, George E. Smith of Sunset, Texas; daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Smith of Blythewood; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Robinson of North Carolina. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her late husband, Reaver Smith, and a son, Charles M. Smith.
