    Alean James Rich, 71, of Wallace died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at her residence.

    She was born March 25, 1938, in Duplin County, daughter of the late Robert E. and Nolie Caison James. She was also predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Rich in 1999.

    Surviving are her children, Joni Rich Cottle (David) of Magnolia and Robert “Rob” D. Rich, Jr. of Wallace; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Cottle and David Carroll Cottle; brother, Bobby James (Barbara) of Milton, FL, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth R. Johnson of Wilmington.

    The family received friends 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, January 13, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.

    Graveside service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dustin Gillespie officiating.

    Memorial gifts may be given to Carolina East Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 887, Kenansville, NC 28349.

    Bobby Duran James, age 74, of Milton, Florida and formerly of Cypress Creek Community in North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

    He was born December 11, 1941 in Duplin County, North Carolina and was the son of the late Robert E. and Nolie Caison James. He was also predeceased by his sister, Alene J. Rich of Wallace, NC.

    Mr. James proudly served his country in the US Navy for 21 years and was a member of Cypress Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

    Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 27 years, Barbara Turner James of the home; son, Robert Andrew James of Atlanta, Georgia; step children, Robert N. Olson and wife, Cherylnn of Milton, Florida and Sheila R. Sabogal and husband, Carlos, of Milton, Florida and John C. Olson of Atlanta, Georgia.

    Bobby was a devoted husband and caring father who loved his family dearly. He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. Bobby enjoyed farming and being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation as long as his health permitted. Being a man of compassion and kindness, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors, friends and family. He had a deep, private relationship with God and demonstrated his faith in the way he lived his life. A man of great integrity, Bobby James will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

    Memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Florida. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, one hour prior the service at Lewis Funeral Home.

    Funeral service in North Carolina will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Cypress Creek Primitive Baptist Church (2887 Lightwood Bridge Road, Wallace, NC 28466). Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Monday evening at the church.
