- Sgt. Samuel W. "Bo" Cothran Sr., 55, of Lake City, died, Saturday, March 13, 2010 after an extended illness. He had been a resident of Columbia County for the past 41 years having moved here from Jacksonville. Mr. Cothran loved working for Anderson Columbia, collecting coins and arrowheads, restoring old cars, NASCAR racing and asphalt, but most of all his heart belonged to his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie R. & Frances E. Massey Cothran, brothers, Steve A. & James R. Cothran and his aunt, Esther Massey.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years Donna Cothran of Lake City, FL; sons, Wes (Amber) Cothran, James R. (Sangia) Cothran, Charlie R. (Cessie) Cothran and Donald W. Cothran all of Lake City, FL; brother, Roger (Teresa) Cothran of Lake City, FL; sister, Rachel Cothran of Martinsville, IN; aunt, Jean Trice of Starkville, MS; and uncle, Ernest (Virginia) Cothran of West Point ,MS; grandchildren, Keirsten Rae-Ann Cothran, Samuel Wesley Cothran III, Chase Michael Cothran, Dezmund Haley Cothran & James Richard Cothran II, Kadon Cothran, and 2 expected, Kinsley Grace Cothran and baby Charlie Cothran, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family at Anderson Columbia and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Brother Carlos Perez and Ted McRae officiating.
