Funeral Services for William Rowe will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Ben Thomas officiating.
Burial in the Church cemetery.
Mr. Rowe of Route 2 Box 344, Hilliard, died Monday at his residence following a lingering illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Nassau County, he was a member of Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church and the Callahan Lodge 32 F & A M. He was a member of Nassau County Soil Conservation Bank, the Nassau County Farm Bureau, and served as a Nassau County Commissioner from 1956 to 1960 and was a deputy under Sheriff McKenndree of Nassau County. He was a former trustee of the Reedy Branch School.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Winnie Rowe, six daughters, Mrs VinnieB. Burgess of Decota W. VA.; Mrs Cora B. Johnson, Jacksonville; Mrs Frances Kincade and Mrs. Lou F. Libby, Hilliard; Mrs Lilla J. Patterson, Phoeniz, Ariz.; Mrs Rhoda S. Tanner, Atlanta; five sons: Gordenell and Herbert R. Rowe, Hilliard; Alvie J & Eddie B. Rowe, Callhan; Farris A. Rowe, Charleston, SC; three sisters, Mrs Eva Wilkerson, Lakeland; Mrs Rachel Best, Augusta, GA; and Mrs Stella Hodges, Hilliard; a brother, Harley Rowe, Hilliard; numerous grandchildren.
Pallbears will be grandsons. The body will rest at the residence until Thursday morning. Arrangements by Key-McCabe Northside.
